IWG, the world’s largest provider of hybrid working solutions announced the opening of four new flexible workspaces in the Philippines in May 2024.
The openings include two Regus centers: one in Nepo Centre, Angeles City, Pampanga on May 6, and another in Adriatico, Manila on May 10. Additionally, HQ Triumph in Quezon City opened on May 14, followed by Spaces in PNB Makati on May 15. These strategic launches are part of IWG’s ongoing global expansion after adding 867 locations worldwide in 2023.
The rising demand for hybrid working in the Philippines drives these expansions. A PwC report shows that 51% of Filipino respondents prefer the hybrid work model, supported by increased foreign investment, strong GDP growth, and rising affluence.
Expanding IWG Network
The new locations bring IWG’s total presence in the Philippines to 31 centers, with plans to exceed 40 by year-end. This extensive network includes key cities like Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Cebu, Subic, Angeles City, Baguio, and throughout the National Capital Region, making IWG the largest provider of flexible workspaces in the country.
IWG’s growth strategy in the Philippines is rooted in partnerships with local partners and investors, fostering a robust network that helps businesses of all sizes thrive. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) particularly benefit, using these flexspaces as launchpads for regional, national, and global growth. IWG Philippines continues to post impressive margin growth, bolstered by ongoing network development.
Driving Inclusive Growth
By expanding beyond Manila’s central business districts, IWG ensures businesses nationwide can access premium and flexible workspaces. This expansion promotes economic development and empowers businesses.
With an annual investment of around USD 64 million in its technology platform, IWG provides partners with expertise and support for design and fit-out. This model has made IWG Philippines one of the company’s best-performing markets globally.
As the hybrid working trend accelerates, the potential for growth is immense, with an estimated 1.2 billion white-collar workers globally and a total addressable market of over USD 2 trillion. As businesses shift from traditional office spaces to flexible workspaces, IWG continues to attract new partners and clients, now serving 83% of Fortune 500 companies. With over 4,000 locations in more than 120 countries, IWG offers members access to all its locations and services via the IWG app.
Lars Wittig, Senior Vice-President, of APAC NORTH, IWG, said: “We are pleased to announce the opening of these four new locations in the Philippines this month. We see immense potential in the country’s hybrid work landscape and as important business hubs in the region, these latest openings are aimed at strengthening our expansion plans, while levelling up the quality of the nation’s infrastructure to drive its economy into the future.
These new centres are a testament to the fact companies are realising flexible working is an enabler of employee productivity and improves sustainability, while increasing scalability so that businesses can grow faster while exerting greater control over costs.”
IWG’s multi-brand expansion strategy caters to every type of business and entrepreneur, creating personal, financial, and strategic value. From global companies to individual entrepreneurs, all leverage the power of flexible working to boost productivity, efficiency, agility, and market proximity.
