The Philippines’ skateboarding sensation Margielyn Didal gave back to street kids and the homeless in Cebu City after her memorable Tokyo Olympics debut.

In a YouTube video posted on September 6, 2021, the Filipina skater from Cebu announced that she has started a new charity initiative named “The Margielyn Didal Program.”

Didal’s latest vlog documented her team distributing around 300 food packs to feed homeless children and street dwellers in her hometown to lend a helping hand to those in need amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Filipina Olympian previously raised funds to feed the homeless in Cebu by selling her preloved clothes and items through Facebook Live.

“I would like to thank everyone who bought some of my pre-loved clothes…it brings happiness and we have fed a lot today,” Margielyn Didal said in Cebuano.

Didal also thanked her family for helping out in the feeding program and expressed her gratitude to fans for being part of her journey.

The 22-year-old Filipina skateboarder won the hearts of many sports fans around the world during her Tokyo Olympics campaign, where she made it to the women’s street finals.

Didal made history for the Philippines as the first-ever Filipino skateboarder to compete in the quadrennial games.

Asia’s Skater of the Year awardee has won gold medals in the 2018 Asiad in Jakarta and the 2019 South East Asian Games.
