How to Watch 19 Filipino Olympians Compete in Tokyo Olympics

Sports fans in the Philippines will have plenty of options to watch the 19 Filipino Olympians participate in the international multi-sport event, including on free-to-air TV and online streaming. POC photo.

Here’s how to watch 19 Filipino Olympians compete in 12 events at the Tokyo Olympics starting July 23, 2021.

Filipinos can show their support for the 19-strong Philippine delegation vying for the coveted country’s first Olympic gold medal by watching the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo from the comfort of their own homes.

Filipino athletes in the quadrennial games include pole vaulter EJ Obiena, gymnast Carlos Yulo, boxers Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, Irish Magno and Eumir Felix Marcial, skateboarder Margielyn Didal, taekwondo jin Kurt Barbosa, rower Cris Nievarez, weightlifters Hidilyn Diaz and Elreen Ando, shooter Jayson Valdez, and Judo champion Kiyomi Watanabe.

Sprinter Kristina Knott, golfers Juvic Pagunsan, Yuka Saso, and Bianca Pagdanganan, and swimmers Luke Michael Gebbie and Remedy Alexis Rule complete the country’s delegation for the Summer Games in Japan.

The Tokyo Olympics, featuring a record 33 competitions and 339 events held across 42 competition venues in Japan, kicks off from July 23 and will run until August 8, 2021.

Sports fans can tune in to the Olympics online through the Cignal Play website or download the app which will broadcast live updates to its subscribers with exclusive content not available on the TV broadcast.
