Gloucester Hosts Filipino Heritage Celebration Honoring Nurses

The Filipino Association of Gloucestershire is inviting everyone to “Experience the Philippines through Food, Music, and Culture” on Sunday, May 11, 2025, from 12 noon to 5 PM at King’s Square, Gloucester.

Discover how Filipino healthcare workers continue to make a global impact by reading the inspiring story of May Parsons and her mission to transform UK and Philippine healthcare.

This community event celebrates Filipino Heritage Month and International Nurses Day with a special tribute to the invaluable contributions of Filipino nurses and healthcare workers serving in the NHS, care homes, and private sectors across the United Kingdom.

Guests can look forward to an immersive cultural experience that highlights the richness of Filipino traditions. The program includes:

• Authentic Filipino street food and traditional dishes
• Live performances featuring Original Pilipino Music (OPM)
• Cultural displays, crafts, and family-friendly activities
• A chance to connect with the vibrant Filipino community in Gloucester

Celebrate Filipino excellence in healthcare by reading how Filipina nurse Ediscyll Lorusso became a finalist for the UK’s National Lifetime Achievement Award.

“This special event honours the remarkable contributions of Filipino nurses and healthcare workers across the NHS, care homes, and private sectors. It is a heartfelt tribute to their dedication and impact on the health and well-being of communities across the UK.”

Organized by the Filipino Association of Gloucestershire with support from Gloucester City Council, Together Gloucester, and PPL PRS, the event welcomes all residents and visitors to celebrate this joyful occasion in the heart of the city.
