Manila’s Juvyel Anne Saluta has made history as the first Filipina to win the prestigious Miss Elite world crown.
The 20-year-old beauty from the Philippines outshined 34 contestants from around the world to claim victory during the grand coronation held on September 14, 2024, in Somabay, a stunning resort town on the Red Sea in Egypt.
Juvyel Anne Saluta has now joined the list of Filipina beauty queens who won their respective pageants in Egypt. Filipino-Australian beauty Kathleen Paton from Aklan province won Miss Eco International in 2022, Cinderella Faye “Cindy” Obeñita of Cagayan de Oro was crowned Miss Intercontinental in 2021, and in 2018, Cynthia “Thia” Thomalla of Southern Leyte made history by winning the Philippines’ first Miss Eco International crown.
Miss Elite proudly announced the Philippines’ victory during the awards night:
Saluta nailed every segment of the beauty contest, from her T’boli-inspired ensemble for the national costume show to the swimsuit round to the evening gown competition with her beaded “Mariposa” dress created by Filipino designer Benj Laguiab.

Saluta also showcased her communication skills during the question-and-answer portion where she was asked about her definition of success.
“I believe that success for each and every one of us can never be defined. We all have our own definition of success. For me, success is being able to have enough, being able to have a simple life, because I believe that success is not about the materialistic things,” the Tourism student from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila answered.
“It’s about in your heart. It’s about kindness. It’s about how you help other people. I believe that if I’m able and have the opportunities to help other people I believe I’m a successful person. Thank you,” the Filipina beauty queen added.
Aside from winning the crown, she also bagged the Best Smile Award.

- First Runner-up – Victoria Maneiro, Venezuela
- Second Runner-up – Irene Grande, Spain
- Third Runner-up – Sofia Gonzalez, Mexico
- Fourth Runner-up – Tawana Sheldrick, Indonesia
In a short interview right after the coronation, Saluta issued a shoutout to fellow Filipinos.
“Hello, Pilipinas! We finally made it! We’ve got the first-ever Miss Elite World crown for the Philippines,” the newly crowned beauty queen said.
“I’m so grateful for all the love and support. I know umaga na d’yan sa Pilipinas pero suportado n’yo pa rin ako (I know it already morning in the Philippines but you still supported me),” she added.
“Maraming maraming salamat po (Thank you very much). I’m forever grateful for each and everyone’s support. And I’ll forever bring pride and honor to the Philippines,” Saluta concluded.
