The Community Pantry PH group is selling shirts to raise funds for Filipino jeepney drivers affected by the impending phase-out of traditional Philippine jeepneys.
The group led by community pantry mover Ana Patricia “Patreng” Non launched the initiative during the strike set by various transport groups to reject the government’s modernization program that threatened the phase-out of public utility vehicles.
Non, who has been helping Filipino farmers since launching the community pantry amid the pandemic, said the proceeds from the t-shirt sales will be used to start community pantries and kitchens for affected jeepney drivers and their families.
“Dahil po sa threat sa kanilang kabuhayan nais po namin maglunsad ng pantries at kitchens para sa kanilang pamilya,” Ana Patricia “Patreng” Non wrote in a Facebook post on March 6, 2023.
“May solidarity T-Shirt po kami na ibebenta para sa makapaglikom para sa initiative na ito. Bili po kayo!” Non added.
The pre-order form for the t-shirts is now closed as of this writing.
Donors can still help out jeepney drivers through in-kind and monetary donations that can be coursed through the following:

The traditional Philippine Jeepney is unique to the Philippines and has historic, cultural, tourism, and pro-poor values that are championed by supporters of the retention of the popular jeepney.
Initiatives like Rural Rising PH’s project Crate Hope and this jeepney art fund drive came to the rescue of displaced jeepney drivers during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Patreng Non earlier sold vegetable bouquets for struggling Filipino farmers.
