The National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) in Manila has extended its visiting hours to give more Filipinos a chance to learn about the nation’s rich artistic, historical, and cultural heritage.

The National Museum, which reopened last year to the public with new safety guidelines, announced that it will be extending its hours of operation to 6 p.m. starting on International Museum Day today, May 18, 2022.

The National Museum of Fine Arts, National Museum of Anthropology, and National Museum of Natural History in Rizal Park in Manila will now be open to visitors with longer hours from Tuesday to Sunday, except on public holidays.

The museum said it hopes to do better in its public service by giving “as many people as possible” more opportunities to access its museums this International Museum Day and beyond.

Visitors no longer need to book reservations to enter the museums but are required to present their vaccination cards upon entry.

The museums are open from Tuesday to Sunday (except holidays), from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The National Museum opened its doors to the general public for free beginning in 2016.

The Ayala Museum in Makati earlier celebrated National Arts Month in February by waiving its admission fee for teachers.
